A Visual Art background and years of experience as a flower designer developed in San Francisco and New York (where I studied first and taught afterwards at the renown FlowerSchool NY) contributed to the organic style of my arrangements. I get inspired by the unpredictability of Nature, by the beauty of fragility, and by the moving feelings that arise from contemplating impermanence’s perfection. Flowers teach us to appreciate life in all its fluctuations, to respect time, to change a challenge into an opportunity to make Art. For this reason I find floristry to be one of the most nurturing creative disciplines."  

Elena Mencarelli is a Flower Designer who has worked for some of the most renown business in NY and Milan, creating florals for Bruce Springsteen, Selena Gomez, the NYC Ballet, the Lincoln Center, Tiffany, DUCO, Acqua di Parma, Milano Fashion Week and many more. She works on private commissions for weddings and parties. 

For this workshop she will introduce participants to  a spiral bouquet technique, essential to create a professional bouquet. We will talk about the seasonal blooms we'll use, how to properly "condition" the flowers, how to arrange them in the bouquet to obtain different styles and how to properly cut the bouquet., finishing with a couple of tricks on how to have your flowers last longer.
