An autumn day away from Milan, discovering the Borromean Islands on Lake Maggiore. We’ll travel together to Stresa, and spend the day exploring Isola Bella, Isola dei Pescatori and Isola Madre, with a guided experience through centuries of history, extraordinary palace and gardens.

This October, we’re leaving Milan for a day and heading to Lake Maggiore to discover one of the most beautiful historic destinations in Northern Italy: the Borromean Islands.
We’ll meet in the morning at Milano Centrale and travel together by direct train to Stresa. From there, our boat will take us across the lake for a full day between three very different islands, each with its own history and atmosphere.
Our first stop will be Isola Bella, transformed by the Borromeo family into an extraordinary combination of palace, art and monumental Italian gardens. We’ll discover Palazzo Borromeo and its spectacular terraces while learning more about the family that shaped the islands and the history behind this remarkable place.
We’ll then continue by boat to Isola dei Pescatori, the smallest and most intimate of the three islands…
