We have wanted to organise this experience for a very long time, and October 31 felt like exactly the right day to finally do it.
Cimitero Monumentale is far more than a cemetery. Designed by Carlo Maciachini in the 19th century, it is considered one of Milan’s most remarkable cultural sites and a true open-air museum, where art, architecture and the history of the city come together.
During our guided visit in English, we’ll walk through more than 150 years of Milanese history, discovering monumental tombs, chapels and sculptures created for some of the city’s most influential families and personalities. The architecture itself tells a fascinating story, moving through different artistic periods and styles, from elaborate 19th-century monuments to Liberty, Novecento and Rationalist works.
